Eligibility

You must be at least 18, legally able to agree, live in Canada, and use one account for yourself. Live alpha accounts currently require a Metro Vancouver location; people elsewhere may join the optional launch waitlist. Profile information and photos must be truthful, current, and yours to share.

Conduct

No harassment, hate or degrading conduct based on ethnicity or another protected characteristic, threats, stalking, coercion, fraud, commercial solicitation, sexual exploitation, non-consensual imagery, impersonation, scraping, automated access, unauthorized security testing, or attempts to bypass access and safety controls. Do not upload duplicate or filler images to defeat profile requirements. See the plain-language Community Rules.

Your content

You keep ownership of your content and grant Solid only the limited permission needed to store, process, moderate, and show it as part of the service. You must have the right to upload everything you provide.

Profiles and messages

Three distinct approved photos are required to appear in discovery. You can browse once three photos are submitted, while review is still in progress; messaging opens when all three are approved. Profiles appear only when both people’s hard filters, including each person’s maximum travel distance, allow the connection. Municipality-centre distance is the default. A member may instead grant one-time device permission to save a coarse area for more accurate distance filtering; raw GPS is not stored, no live or background tracking occurs, and the coarse coordinates are never shown to another member. Location information must be truthful and must not be manipulated to surveil, deceive, or evade geographic controls. Optional ethnicity is self-described, never inferred, hidden by default, and used only for mutual filtering unless a member displays it. Individual rejection reasons are never disclosed. If the photo count later falls, an existing conversation remains available so safety or moderation does not abruptly cut it off. Messages are stored, are not end-to-end encrypted, and can be read by authorized operators to prevent or confirm abuse, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Safety and enforcement

Solid does not currently perform identity, criminal-record, or biometric checks. Photo approval is content moderation, not identity verification. We may remove content, pause profiles, suspend accounts, preserve narrowly scoped report evidence, or contact authorities when reasonably necessary for safety, legal compliance, or protecting the service. Appeals can be submitted through authenticated support or to support@meetsolid.app.

Alpha service and price

The public alpha is free. Accounts created while alpha lifetime access is open keep access free for the life of the Solid service. Friends who create an account through an alpha member’s invitation link before the alpha offer ends receive the same entitlement. Invitations are for personal sharing; do not sell them, automate them, or market them as public coupon codes. Solid currently plans one $10 USD access payment for otherwise unentitled new members after testing, not a subscription. The final price, timing, and purchase terms will be disclosed before any charge. Payment will never buy ranking priority, extra attention, or better placement. The service may change, pause, lose data, or end. There is no promise of matches, dates, relationships, continuous availability, or error-free operation.

Ending your account

You can delete the account in Account. Public visibility ends immediately; Solid does not keep ghost profiles. Narrow message and report-evidence retention is explained before deletion and in the Privacy Policy. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot legally be limited.
